Cornerstone of Hope is a bereavement center dedicated to providing support, education, and hope to those grieving the loss of a loved one. By serving and educating community professionals, it is our goal that grieving children, teens and adults will have access to better resources and support programs and that community personnel are better equipped to serve the bereaved.

Our seminars are well suited for: Social Workers, Counselors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Chaplains, Healthcare Professionals, Parish Nurses, Clergy, Funeral Home Directors (please call to see if the CEU has been approved)

LIVING WITH GRIEF 2017: WHEN GRIEF IS COMPLICATED PRESENTED BY BUSCH FUNERAL AND CREMATORY SERVICES AND CROSSROADS HOSPICE

SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES SERIES: THE DISCIPLINE OF RETREAT AND REFLECTION

Care giving can take a toll on us emotionally, physically, mentally and relationally. Learning how, when and where to retreat are essential. We will discuss the advantages of contemplating the lessons learned during those times of intentional withdrawal and seclusion.

HALF-DAY WORKSHOP: COUNSELING AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILIES

An experiential workshop focusing on the specific needs of the African American family. Practical information and strategies will be offered in order to enhance and increase the counselor’s knowledge and sensitivity.

FACILITATOR TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS
August 19, 2017: Initial Training from 9:00am – 12:00pm and Additional Trauma Training from 1:00pm – 4:00pm
The initial training is mandatory, but the additional trauma training for specialized groups such as Loss to Murder, Suicide or Accidental Overdose is optional. Includes materials and refreshments.
Cost: $75 each or $125 for both trainings

SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES SERIES: THE DISCIPLINE OF SABBATH, SEEKING, AND SERVING
October 18, 2017: 8:30am – 9:30am
Seeking and serving are important foundations of Christianity. Those who provide support and care for others often are not very good at giving themselves permission to care for themselves. We will discuss the necessity for the discipline of Sabbath in order to become even more compassionate and helpful caregivers.
