Cornerstone of Hope is a bereavement center dedicated to providing support, education, and hope to those grieving the loss of a loved one. By serving and educating community professionals, it is our goal that grieving children, teens and adults will have access to better resources and support programs and that community personnel are better equipped to serve the bereaved.

Monthly Seminars

Each month, Cornerstone of Hope offers a 2 hour CEU on grief related topics to professionals in the community. We invite you to join us for a time of networking and professional development, while gaining insight from inspirational and knowledgeable speakers on how to better serve those who are grieving. Each seminar is $30 and includes dinner, materials, and 2 CEU's (unless otherwise indicated).

Weekly Professional Series
Cornerstone of Hope is excited to present its new Professional Series, a group that will meet every Thursday to offer CEU’s, training, networking opportunities, self-care and clinical interventions. Participants can come every week or can pick and choose the ones they want to attend. All meetings will be held at Cornerstone of Hope, from 8:30am ~ 10:00am.

First Thursday
Journal Group ~ How many of us have time to read through professional journals to keep up on the latest research and trends? What should be a part of our jobs has become a luxury. At this meeting, facilitated by a Professional Librarian, we will have a group discussion on an article that will be e-mailed to you one week ahead of time. Come prepared to interact, share ideas, and debate topics! Cost is $10 and includes breakfast, materials, and 1 CEU for Social Workers, Counselors, and Nurses.

Second Thursday
Caring for the Caregiver ~ As a professional caregiver, you spend the majority of your day meeting the needs of others - a wonderful, but draining occupation. These meetings are all about pampering you. They might include alternative therapies (massage, aroma, etc), creating something (art, clay), and other de-stressing events. Come and spend an hour taking care of yourself, before heading out for a day of caring for others. Cost is $10 and includes breakfast, materials, and destressing technique.

The Grief Group ~ This is our networking group, which has been meeting for three years now. Please come prepared to share what programs and events are going on at your agency, and bring program brochures and business cards to exchange with others. Cost is $10 and includes breakfast, materials, and 1 CEU for Social Workers, Counselors, and Nurses.

Clinical Interventions ~ At this meeting we will have local clinicians presenting new and different interventions for working with clients. They may be cognitive based, or use photography, art or other therapeutic interventions to enhance our skill sets and add tools to our arsenal of interventions. Cost is $10 and includes breakfast, materials, and 1 CEU for Social Workers, Counselors, and Nurses.
