￭ Suicide Loss Monthly Series | Second Monday of the Month from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
This monthly informational series is for adults looking to learn more about suicide or for those grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. Suicide has a devastating impact on families, friends and communities. Cornerstone of Hope is actively working in accordance with State of Ohio Guidelines to ensure the safety of all participants. The featured speaker is Pete Bliss. Please note that this series is for adults only.

Monday, February 8 – AFSP’s documentary The Journey, which was produced for Survivor Day 2014, tells the stories of a diverse group of suicide loss survivors. It’s a compelling film that shows how each survivor is weathering the loss of a loved one, and how they are finding their way back to a life rich in meaning—and even joy. Monday, March 8 – In The Journey Revisited, a follow-up featurette to The Journey that was produced for Survivor Day 2017, six of the original film’s participants gather three years later to reflect on their grief and healing journey with the insight and perspective that their continued experience has afforded them. Monday, April 12 – This monthly meeting will feature Dr. Thomas Joiner, PhD’s lecture “Why Do People Die By Suicide?”. Joiner is an American academic psychologist and leading expert on suicide. After previewing the lecture, all participants are invited to contribute to the group discussion that will be facilitated by Pete Bliss, Cornerstone Of Hope Community Outreach.
Monday, May 10 – Pete Bliss, Cornerstone Of Hope Community Outreach, will present John R. Jordan, PhD’s lecture, “Helping Suicide Loss Survivors: New Directions in Suicide Postvention.” Further discussion around the “New Directions” will follow, along with opportunities to ask questions.

Suicide has a devastating impact on families, friends and communities. We hope adults affected by suicide will join us for one or all of the topics in this new, Friday evening series held at Cornerstone of Hope. Each part of this six-week series will focus on a new topic around a suicide loss with the goal of promoting healing and imparting hope to survivors.
