Thank you considering volunteer activities to help us create world where no grieving person journeys alone. Volunteers are an integral part of the Cornerstone of Hope team, and we would not be able to serve grieving individuals and families without our volunteers.
We routinely welcome volunteer groups from corporations, churches, and other community organizations. If you are interested in a volunteer group activity, please contact Kathie McNeilly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 216.524.4673.
VOLUNTEER GROUP OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE
PROVIDE/HOST A MEAL – Small groups of 2-4 individuals
Cornerstone of Hope provides a simple meal free of charge to clients attending our evening Support Groups to lessen the burden of getting dinner prior to their sessions. Small groups of 2-4 volunteers provide or prepare meal, serve meals, and/or clean up from a meal for groups ranging from 12-36 individuals. Based on your resources, you can choose if your group will prepare a meal for a small (12-18), medium (19-30), or a large (more than 30) group.
PREPARE MEALS FOR OUR FREEZER – Small groups of 6-8 individuals
For groups who are not able to serve in the evenings during meal time, we welcome small groups of volunteers willing to cook entrees and desserts for our freezers to be used for the future. Your group provides the ingredients, we provide the kitchen and equipment – we will even provide a recipe if needed! This can be a daytime or evening opportunity and is a great team-building activity for your group.
SMALL PROJECTS – Small groups of 2-12 individuals, depending on project
We often need assistance with small projects in preparation for our events. We have many “one and done” opportunities for volunteers, like setting up furniture for an event or cleaning up after one, preparing art projects for summer camp, baking cookies for a memorial program, or always-needed cleaning projects!
LARGE PROJECTS – Great for large groups
Our beautiful, large facility requires a lot of attention. Large groups are needed and welcome for projects like spring and fall clean-up of yard and flower beds, preparation for summer camps, deep cleaning of kitchen and living areas, indoor painting of offices and meeting spaces, and power washing of pavers, decks, and outdoor furniture. These types of activities are ideal for groups of 10-20 and can often be scheduled at your group’s convenience.
