Monthly Education Series: Grief Matters
Grief Matters is a monthly education series designed to provide opportunities to explore and manage grief in new ways. Recognizing that the experience of grief is both unique and universal, Grief Matters offers additional support for those striving to learn, grow, connect, and heal. Each month, a topic or activity is presented that may help improve wellness and coping through education, self-care, and emotional expression. Participants are encouraged to try new skills and incorporate them into their lives if appropriate for their personal grief journey.
Guided by the Christian values of compassion and service, Cornerstone of Hope is dedicated to providing support, education, and hope for the grieving. All are welcome as we strive to create a world where no grieving person journeys alone. Grief Matters is an extension of our services, and each program is presented in a manner that aligns with our values and mission. Following the example of Jesus’ ministry, Grief Matters serves to foster healing in body, mind, and spirit, especially since grief impacts physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. We hope that participants will feel welcomed into the Cornerstone of Hope community and emerge with a renewed sense of purpose.
Please join us the last Wednesday of each month for a different topic or activity…because your grief matters!

The Lyrics of Loss | Wednesday, September 29 at 6 p.m.
Do you have a favorite song that takes you right back to that time and place of when you first heard it? Or a song that reminds you of a fun memory with a friend or loved one? Supported by science, actively engaging in music transforms our brain and actually helps us to cope in our day to day functioning.
In this session, board-certified music therapist, Cassandra Acree, will play live and recorded music that supports your own individual grieving process. Come with a few ideas of songs that are important to you, and with an open ear to listen to others as they share their stories in song too.
