Jim Adams is the President of Rise 4 Solutions, a company dedicated to reducing violence and specializing in prevention and recovery from school shootings and other traumatic events. A researcher, lecturer, and consultant on trauma preparedness and response, Jim is an advocate for the prevention of school and community violence.
Jim has been nationally recognized for his development of a unique short- and long-term mental health recovery plan for Chardon, Ohio, and the surrounding community after a mass shooting of six students on February 27, 2012. His community based minute-by-minute trauma-informed recovery plan, implementation model, and subsequent research findings on school and community trauma response after a mass shooting have been used in schools and communities around the country.

Interested in Learning About Grief or Facilitating a Support Group?
Cornerstone of Hope is the leading provider of bereavement services in Ohio. Aside from the programs we offer to grieving children, teens, and adults, we also offer grief facilitator training for school counselors, clinical counselors, social workers, psychologists, administration, organization leadership, and community members.
This training equips you to facilitate grief support groups and in-school grief support groups within your own community or organization. If you are interested in facilitating support groups at Cornerstone of Hope and have a clinical background or significant experience in grief work, please contact our Support Group Coordinator to schedule an interview and discuss next steps. The course is designed to be educational and interactive, with opportunities to explore personal loss histories, and is facilitated by licensed professionals.
Please note: Completion of this training does not guarantee placement as a Cornerstone of Hope facilitator.

12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) offered to counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and nurses. Participation is mandatory from 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. on both days of training to receive credits.
