Upcoming Opportunities

The types of trainings offered by Cornerstone of Hope, along with a brief description of each, are listed below. The full 2024 schedule is also available for download here.

Client Care During the Holidays
This program will focus on defining mourning, grief, bereavement and complicated grief as well as discussing the difference between complicated and normal grief. It will also look at the factors that make our grief unique from one another.

Grief Support Group Facilitator Training
This course is open to any professional interested in learning more about grief and loss, and how to help others through their bereavement journey.

Grief 101
Grief is something that 100% of the population experiences. This program will focus on defining mourning, grief, bereavement and complicated grief as well as discussing the difference between complicated and normal grief.

Grief at Work
It is important to understand grief in the workplace because our jobs are a large part of our daily lives. It can be difficult to maintain productive relationships with someone who is angry, anxious, and depressed, and interacting with traumatized people can make others feel traumatized as well. We handle our grief differently in the workplace than we do at home.

Grief Ministry
As clinicians we have a responsibility to help our clients/patients with not only their physical and emotional issues but also their spiritual needs.

Infant Loss Facilitation Skills
Losing an infant goes against what feels normal; you’re supposed to bury your parents, not your child. This program will look at the unique needs of parents who have lost an infant, whether miscarriage, stillbirth or SIDS.

Murder Loss Facilitation Skills
Grief is something that no two people experience the same way. When trauma is involved in a death situation, the grief gets complicated. This program will look at the unique needs of a griever who has lost a loved one through homicide.

Overdose Loss Facilitation Skills
Recovery from addiction can be a challenging and rewarding process for both the addict and those walking through it with them.

School-Based Interventions
This program is designed for educators and clinicians to understand the unique needs of children who may be grieving a parent, grandparent or other family member, and how that grief intersects with schoolwork.

School Crisis Team Training
Schools have their own crisis plan; however, the challenge is having enough trained staff to meet the need when there is a sudden loss. Designed for private and public schools who intend on developing a team within your district, or in combination with other schools/districts.

Suicide Loss Facilitation Skills
This program will focus on dispelling myths of suicide and examine the risk factors. It will help the participants understand the suicidal brain, and how it works.

Traumatic Loss Facilitation Skills
Participants will understand varies aspects of what trauma will look like, develop skills for self-regulating and gain tools for helping others learn to self-regulate.
