Nonprofit to Mark Anniversary with Ford Bronco Giveaway, Food Truck Event, National Symposium, and More
INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (January 20, 2023) – Cornerstone of Hope, is celebrating 20 Years of Hope in 2023. To mark this important anniversary, the organization is planning multiple events and initiatives throughout the year, including a summer Food Truck event, a National Symposium on Traumatic Loss and Grief, and a special giveaway of a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport, to be raffled off at the 20th Anniversary Gala in February 2023.
Since its inception in 2003, Cornerstone of Hope (COH) has been dedicated to providing support, education, and hope for the grieving. The organization has grown from a small home environment in Independence, Ohio to a regional organization with three locations serving Northeast, Central (Columbus), and Western (Lima) Ohio.
Born out of the tragic loss of Mark & Christi Tripodi’s three year old son in 2000, the organization humbly began in 2003 in their home as a common place for grievers to join with others who truly understood their pain.
“To think that over 45,000 individuals have walked through our doors is truly overwhelming to my wife and me. It’s proof that when God calls you to action, His plan is far greater than we can even imagine. Christi and I are humbled by the generosity from the community and most importantly that those grieving have trusted us to help them on their grief journey,” explains Mark Tripodi, CEO and Founder.
Highlights of the organization’s history and growth can be viewed in the Twenty Years of Hope Timeline (below), which will be shared on social media individually each month of 2023. Additionally, client and supporter testimonials from the past 20 years will be featured on all social channels on the 20th of each month to highlight the 20 years of dedication to the vision of “creating a world where no grieving person journeys alone.”
To kick off the year-long celebration, Cornerstone of Hope has teamed up with Ken Ganley Ford to raffle off a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport at the 20th Anniversary Gala, to be held at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown on February 25, 2023. The raffle was made possible thanks to the generosity of CBIZ - Brian Dean, Cynthia and Allen Haire, and Ken Ganley Ford. Raffle entries are $100 each and are on sale online now through noon of February 24, 2023. Proceeds will benefit Cornerstone of Hope. Visit cornerstoneofhope.org for more information.
On August 10, 2023, the Independence headquarters will hold a “Food Truckpalooza” to thank the community for its continued support over the past twenty years. More information on this event to come in the coming months.
A National Symposium on Traumatic Loss & Grief Support is being planned for September 6-8 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Cleveland Rockside in Independence, Ohio. This symposium will bring together hundreds of practitioners, researchers, educators, clinicians, students and thought leaders from across the country to share information around important topics related to grief support and traumatic loss. A call for papers is open now through February 28, 2023.
Other plans in 2023 include a support group reunion, and recognition of service and support milestones awarded throughout the year to staff, volunteers, and donors of the organization at all three locations.
