Youth Bereavement Program

Cornerstone of Hope is dedicated to ensuring that no child or family navigates the journey of grief alone. Thanks to the support of the Delaware and Morrow County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, we offer free grief support services to youth and families in the Delaware/Morrow County area.
Tuesdays, September 1 - October 13, 2026 (No meeting 9/8)

Children will explore healthy ways to express emotions, honor loved ones, and connect with peers who understand. Dinner will be available from 5:30–6:00 P.M., followed by the support group from 6:00–7:00 P.M. Parents and guardians must remain on-site. Optional parent programming will be available during the session.

Families are invited to an evening of connection, creativity, and grief support. Following dinner, participants will explore emotions surrounding grief and loss through age-appropriate education and pumpkin painting. Youth will paint pumpkins representing difficult emotions they may experience while grieving to create meaningful Halloween decorations to display at home.

Cornerstone of Hope, in partnership with local libraries, is proud to introduce Grief Kits for Children, a free, hands-on resource created to support young hearts navigating life after loss. There’s no “right” way to grieve, these kits simply offer a starting place for kids and teens to explore emotions in their own way. Kits can beck checked out at the following libraries:
