We understand that you may have questions about your camper’s safety while at camp. The safety of campers is a top priority. Below is information that we hope is helpful in knowing more about your camper's safety while at camp.
Supervision at Camp:
Campers are always supervised by trained volunteers and/or employees of Cornerstone of Hope. Appropriate ratios of campers to staff and volunteers are prioritized.
Camper Physical Safety:
A Camp Nurse is on staff at all times during camp programs to provide medical care if needed. Inappropriate physical touch will not be tolerated at camp, to ensure overall safety of campers.
Group and Cabin Assignments of Campers:
Campers are placed in groups and cabins with other campers who are of similar age. At day camp (Camp Memory and Camp Cornerstone), both male and female campers will be in groups together. At overnight camp (Camp Lighthouse), males will be lodged with other male campers and females will be lodged with other female campers. Male cabins will have only male Cabin Buddies leading and lodging with the campers. Female cabins will have only female Cabin Buddies leading and lodging with the campers. Cabin buddies will lodge in the cabin with campers, ensuring adult supervision at all times. Cornerstone of Hope is an organization rooted in Christian values. In alignment with these values and our commitment to providing a safe, supportive environment for all participants, our camp operates with gender-specific accommodations based on biological sex at birth.
